[Private]
The argument was vicious. His temper rivals my fathers when the mood possesses him. He does not approve of how business is being conducted. He does not approve of connections to the Russians or to Asia. And least of all, he does not approve of my decision regarding the fate of Old Man Lear and his darling puppy, Glouchester.
It is not a convienient juncture at which to end my marraige to Albany. He remains of use, an albatross, but a useful albatross. If there is anyone that remains influential with the French, it would be my husband. And there are those through whom with his mild manners and traditional ways he has kept loyal during the times of the most vile defection. Given time, he will cease to be of value, but this is not that time.
In the end there is no weapon as powerful as the female body.
