things that have happened...
i dropped my phone in the sink.
it dried out after a day and works again...which means that my phone is the best phone there is...after dropping it on the ground 10+ times and dropping it into a sink full of water, it still works. good job, phone. you're great.
i finished two project apps for the NY foundation for the arts fiscal sponsorship program.
in 10 weeks i'll see if i fail to persuade them to help me get money for my artistic endeavors.
i bumped into my mentor from college yesterday at a japanese bookstore in midtown.
i was just thinking about her in the morning and actually cracked open my portfolio from college to convince myself to get back into illustration...
and then there she was, craning her neck in my peripheral vision...
it's been 5 years since we've seen each other.
she told me she was just thinking about me the day before.
we talked for a while and she was able to lift my spirits and give me the kick i needed to pull my india inks and charcoals out of my art box.
so, i'll start that again.
i cut all of my hair off.
thank goodness. it was weighing me down and i didn't feel like myself...
so, it's gone and i feel so much better.
i hate hiding behind my hair.
lars and i have some new projects in mind, which will keep us busy for the next 10 weeks while we wait for the apps to be processed and accepted/rejected.
...and that's that.
it's been a rough week of app-writing. now we're going to play videogames, watch movies and take a walk to get an organic coffee up the hill.
