PARTY!!
I have such a big room it'd be a shame to let it go to waste. So I'd like to have a party after spring break, but not too close to finals or in the last weekends of April when I have field trips. I was thinking Saturday, April 2. It would be pretty low-key, with snacks, booze, music, and sitting around talking. Maybe playing card or board games, dancing (if some people could lend me CDs with dance tunes), etc.
I had a few specific ideas . . . I'd ask people to (if they felt like it):
Wear an outfit that they really like and want to show off, whether it be slobby, dressy, slutty, etc.
Bring some nice and unique little treat for a snack potluck, such as hummus from Tailgate, baked goods from Rao's or Uncommon Grounds, fresh apples from Atkins, whatever. I was thinking we could all eat light dinners in the dining halls and then munch on hors d'oeuvres and junk food at the party. But I can scrap that idea if it sounds too expensive.
Bring a CD with one song that you think is so awesome everyone has to hear it, and I could make a playlist on my computer
Bring pictures to share
This is getting a little cheesy, but maybe have a show and tell of sorts. . . bring some random material thing that makes a good conversation starter.
I don't have a TV, and I don't think my laptop plays DVDs. But if someone brought a laptop thusly equipped, we could watch a movie.
Does this interest anyone?
