One sock done! I didn't use all of the first ball of yarn. These socks were made specifically to go with my Crocs, so I stopped when they looked right. Besides, I might make something to go along with them! ( sock! )
Do you ever have problems with socks getting too slouchy around the ankles? I find that my handknitted socks don't stay on the calves where they belong. And I don't like the feeling of ankle socks. Someting about my cast on, I'm guessing.
Do what the Japanese kids do, buy sock glue and glue them to your legs. :P No I don't actually recommend this fashion trend as ripping the damn things off your legs seems akin to a daily waxing, and as my students are only in Junior High school, they aren't even allowed to shave yet.
In all seriousness, have you tried that see-through knitting elastic? It might help with that problem although I have never tried it myself.
Actually, I had never heard of the knitting elastic. I'll have to look for that.
I used to take care of a 7 year-old girl who was an Irish Dancer. She had to use sock glue to keep her poodle socks up while she was dancing. I used to tease her because when she took her socks off, she had a hairless line on her legs. hehe!
