I was quite surprised the other day when India Cohen's, the slayer before Buffy, brother, Tristan walked into the Magic Box looking for Buffy. Anya chastizes me for my suspision of strangers asking for Buffy, however it is highly unusual for a slayers relative to look up the new one. Throughout history what the slayer did was kept secret from her family, perhaps her parents would know, though for her siblings to have the knowledge of their cause, it just simply wasn't done. In fact Buffy having her friends help and somedays it seems as though the entire town is aware of who she is, well as i have said it simply isn't done. This young man had only mentioned that he wished to thank her for something. Well of course I found it unusual therefor, I was cautious.
However Buffy happened in at the right time and they were able to talk. Got on rather nicely, so it seems he is not a danger to her. I would have tried to accidentally overhear there conversation, except Anya had tried to kill me with her bluntness by mentioning the most inappropriate topic, which I care not to repeat. Again. Ever. I adore my Anya, she only has the knack for mentioning the least approriate topics at the least appropriate times. I retreated to the office before I could be mortified further. Shortly after Buffy returned from the back alive so he was obviouly not there to kill her. Still he could have been a threat. One never knows these things. I do not feel I was overreacting. Anya and I had a heated discussion about latter that evening, I must admit she has a way of making you forget what it was you were all worked up about.
The holidays turned out to be truely lovely. I was grateful to be able to get into the spirit after all. The gifts I recieved were rather lovely too. I purchased some jewelry for Anya, she seemed to adore them. We spent some time at Buffy's and then settled in for an evening just the two of us. Truely lovely. Not to break with our holiday traditions, I am cooking Anya dinner tonight to celbrate the new year coming in. There is a bottle of champagne chilling for our toasts. She seemed pleased at the idea and hopefully she will enjoy it.
