New slayers are coming into town and we seem to have several who were living right here in Sunnydale. I have no clue why the Council is sending them all here instead of allowing them to continue their training in their own towns. It's not like any other slayer ever learned from the previous one, and heaven knows there's plenty of demonic activity ( Read more... )

*Walks into the Magic Box and nods to Ripper and Anya, then goes over to the table to sit down and wait, but finds many chairs occupied by teenage girls.*

Hmm, not exactly the private venue I was hoping for for our meeting.

*enters the Magic box and stares at the amount of people in there, does not remember this many teenagers from when he worked there*

This is new.

*spies Ethan*

I may as well get this over with.

Hello.

Cristoff! How are you? *Nods at the girls.* Don't they normally hang out at the mall?

Well, I must hand it to you, my luck changed after I gave you the money. Oh, except for that little matter of my plane going down in the Bermuda Triangle. Still, I got rescued by a cruise ship, so I shouldn't complain.

I don't remember this many young girls shopping here when I worked here.

I am glad the luck wore off. Otherwise I could not ask for your help.

My help? If it's anything having to do with revenge on Victor I'm all for it. He did screw me over, too. Just not sure how one would go about doing it, he's quite a bit more powerful than either of us, I think.

Did you manage to convince Eva that it wasn't you? Because I had no luck when I phoned her from Greece, and she seemed a little irate, at you as well as me.

Yes I did manage to convince her. It was difficult he'd done a good job of it.

Yes, I need your help, but you might need to work with someone. I need to find a weapon that the Count fears and it is most probably in the hands of the Rom.

Hmm, a weapon. Well, I'm pretty good at finding things, but my rapport with the Rom is not so good. I could ask Tori if she has time to help, she gets on with them very well, as you know.

She does but it will help having someone who knows their customs. Victoria would surely insult the Rom with her ways. You will be going where the laws of uncleanliness are very strong.

I have already asked someone else to help you. I think you may know of her. Her name is Izzy Hicks.

Oh god, Miss Hicks. You do know I screwed--er, nevermind, of course you do, you cursed the money. Have you suggested it to her? Because I rather think she might object to working with me.

She is good, though, beat me out on a job by several days.

Yes I am aware of some of your history.

*smiles*

However I suggested her because her family was Rom and she will be more familiar with what not to do when talking to them. You will need to do the direct talking these particular families do not respect women and Izzy can advise you while Victoria could not.

Ah, how very backward of them. So that would mean I'd need to perhaps pick up a few words of Rom, strange handshakes, that sort of thing?

*Folds his arms.*

Well, I'm game if she has no objection. I'd rather like to see Victor get his comeuppance after he set me up like he did.

For the amount of money I plan to pay you both I doubt there will be objections.

Besides she needs a man to help her out and I might as well be someone who has a bit of a reputation among the Rom.

*Rubs his chin with his hand and grins.*

A reputation, you say? I'd ask if it was a good one or a bad one, but perhaps I don't want to know.

And I won't charge much, enough to get the job done and a small profit to keep me from starving--that little bad luck stunt made me lose out on several jobs. But I figure I owe you that much for my very small part in the Count's kidnapping scheme.

I plan to pay you well. It will involve a bit of travelling. I know the name of the last person to hold the weapon against the Count, but I do not know who currently has it.

The Rom may ask for payment for the scimitar as well, although they do not usually take money for such items. Another reason to send you.

I would like you to discourage Victoria from providing any spells that they desire, they tend to be double edged swords.

Heh, I don't encourage Tori to do magic at all anymore, it seems I'm a rather bad influence on her. She has much better judgment than I, but if you think she might be in danger from this particular family, I will warn her of that.

*Cocks his head and looks directly at Cristoff.*

Didn't you always used to refer to the Rom as "my people". Have a bit of a falling out? And is that why you aren't going yourself?

More to the point, is that going to get me in trouble if they find out I'm working for you?

cristoff_eleni August 31 2004, 19:42:24 UTC
I would not let them know who hired you if you can avoid it. I am not welcome among them anymore.

You can always say that Eva hired you or perhaps make up a client.

And Victoria tends to have no sense when it comes to trying to help people, no offense of course, but they will take shameless advantage of that.
