Joan has told me that she believes the Fury has struck the building again, this time killing one of the tenants. Buffy has been patrolling with Spike, but has been unable as yet to locate her. I have continued to look for specific references to her in the Watcher's Diaries and elsewhere, and have come up empty-handed. I have been thinking of asking ( Read more... )

*turns a page in the book she's looking through*

You know, Giles, I don't think Willow or Tara will be able to get the belt off of her this way. Not with that whip of hers, and it's not like either of them are model offspring, either.

They're both perfectly fine young...er, you may be right, I recall Willow was rather upset with er parents for not accepting Tara right away and Tara...oh dear.

Well, I have been known to throw a decent spell in my day, and I'm on quite good terms with Mother. The Fury certainly didn't come knocking on my door last night.

Well, my family's been long gone for centuries now. I suppose I could try and help you with the spell.

Well, help would certainly be nice. It's strange, I've been in here several times and barely seen any of the others around. Buffy's been keeping me informed, but I haven't spoken to Willow or Xander at all since returning.

I haven't seen either one of them in a while, either. Usually Willow's in here on a regular basis, but not since Tara got back from her retreat. I can't remember the last time I saw Xander in here. I think he's found a new orgasm buddy.

Oh! My. I suppose that would explain him being rather....er, busy. Although, I could have lived without knowing that.

And Tara on a retreat...I suppose reverting to human would take a bit of re-centering, so to speak. It was probably quite good for her. And Willow is no doubt in the throes of studying for finals or writing papers.

It just seems strange--the Fury seems like a very potent evil, and yet the troops do not seem to be rallying as they once did. I suppose growing up makes all sorts of adult matters seem more important.

Well, I've been expecting them to take over my shop for research like they usually do any day now. So far you're the only one I've seen doing any sort of research that involves the Fury.

You're surprisingly calm about Buffy dating Spike, you know. I would've thought you'd of polished a hole through your lenses by now. Perhaps you've matured as well since you've been gone.

Er...what's that? Buffy dating...no, no, no, they are simply patrolling together.

*Removes glasses and starts polishing the lenses.*

Every bloody night. Oh, dear lord.

Is that what she told you? I thought you said she's been keeping you informed.

*watches him polish his glasses*

Honestly, Giles, you really will wear a hole through them if you keep that up much longer.

*Gives Anya a scowl and places his glasses back on his nose.*

She said they've been patrolling every night, with no luck locating the Fury. Now it seems she perhaps was not looking as...er, diligently as I believed. Good heavens, Spike?

No offense, I know you and he were...er, an item, but you're older, you have so much more experience with the world. *Hastily.* Not that it shows.

Good lord, she's dating Spike?

Yes, Spike. William the Bloody, my former orgasm buddy, that Spike.

*frowns*

Are you implying that I'm looking old? Because you're not so young yourself, you know.

_giles_ April 18 2004, 00:20:34 UTC
No, of course not, you still look twenty years old. I'm sure you get carded at the Bronze regularly, if you ever manage to pry yourself away from the shop. I'm just saying you have the perspective of those long years, not the bloody wrinkles.

*Frowns.* What were we talking about? And is that bottle of scotch still behind the counter? Or did Cristoff drink it all?

*smiles*

Thank you, Giles. You're very handsome yourself in a rugged way, and for your age.

*gets up and goes to get the scotch and two glasses*

*sits back down after setting them on the table*

No, he hasn't, as you can see. Why, do you think he's prone to drinking on the job? He has been rather happy lately, but I think he's found a new orgasm buddy, too. And we were talking about Buffy's new orgasm buddy, Spike.

Why, er--thank you, I think.

*Pours them each a glass of scotch.*

Just that Cristoff drank quite a bit of my liquor while he was squatting in my apartment. Although, I have to hand it to the man, he knows his gypsy charms. Joan said it kept the Fury from attacking Yuffie again.

And yes, I am going to drink my scotch and pretend you didn't say that last bit.

*sips her scotch*

Well, I haven't smelled any alcohol on his breath while he's been working. He's turned out to be a very good employee, by the way. And have you spoken with him about the Fury? I could question him, if you'd like.

You're going to have to deal with it sooner or later, you know. You can't ignore the fact that he's probably got her half way to happy right now instead of patrolling.
