I spent some time yesterday researching the Gaki that Wesley asked about. The information I found was sketchy, but it seems to be the Asian equivalent of our vampires. Only instead of blood, they have the power to drain a person of energy...and in some cases, their soul. Now, Wesley did not see fit to tell me why he wanted the information, but after reading it and listening again to the message Tori left me about what happened to Dylan, I have a very bad feeling. I believe one of these creatures may be loose in the city.
I faxed the information I found to Angel Investigations, I certainly hope that they are on top of the situation. In the meantime, I left a message for Tori explaining what I found, and that I suspect this Gaki creature is behind Dylan's misfortune. I shall continue to dig to find out if there is a way to restore his soul, and how exactly such a creature can be destroyed. Also, if there is a way to protect oneself from an attack.
I am also still uncertain how to approach Gwen Raiden. I want to find out what, if anything she knows about the Destroyer, without giving anything away. Connor needs to be protected. On the other hand, perhaps she knows nothing, and I could learn something useful from the scrolls. I believe I shall return her message this evening.
