We've managed to stay alive until Christmas, which, yay, presents. And a lot of parties. It's still weird, being shuffled off to party to party; for little kids that Dylan and Cordelia planned, or for Rhia and Preach's party, even just hanging out doing the gift exchange and dinner at Dylan and Connor's (and I did manage to finish my shopping on time; go me). Hockins wasn't big on Christmas celebration, and my parents weren't much better. It was always stay home and do nothing. There's family here, whatever we're doing. I'm still not used to it, especially being spoiled. Because, oh my God, have I been spoiled. Having a birthday near Christmas so kicks ass. Among the shiny things that Dylan and Rhia always awesomely feel obligated to get everyone, Galen gave me this really pretty tanzanite and silver ring. I bet he's just going to Dylan now, because his taste is not that of a man's.
And Santa Claus is evil. Connor has the total pleasure of gloating on this one after Des's vision, because there really was a Santa Claws demon trying to eat children. That explains so much about Christmas when I was six...
I really like Galen and all, but he's cracking me up. He wanted to know if we were going to have a goose for Christmas. A goose. And it's not like I can even say "What are you, from the middle ages?" I'm glad he's here; he's sweet, and I think all of this family time has made him feel not so out of place and far away from home. Plus, I got totally distracted playing with his ipod when I was supposed to be showing him how to use it.
This has also been the season of meeting new people. Aside from all of the pint sized ones that pleased at least Taylor, we've also met some Rhia's family, including her dad and cousin Vince. More family to add the quirky numbers we have now, not that I'm complaining.
Excuse me, Des and Alex are trying to be inconspicuous, and it is my duty to heckle her.
