I've just come home from the studio, where we're soon to begin production on a new film called The Pirate. It'll be me and Judy Garland, and I'm looking forward to spending some time with her. It's been quite a while since we've worked together, since For Me and My Gal. You know, Judy got me the part in that film after seeing me in Pal Joey on Broadway.
I haven't read through the whole script yet, but I like it so far. There's going to be some great dance numbers in it, some things that I think are really unique and I can't wait to sink my teeth into. LB (Mayer) told me that Cole Porter will be writing songs for the film, so that's another cause for excitement. And, it's being directed by Vincente Minnelli.

In news at home, we're getting ready for Kerry's 8th birthday. You don't know how old that makes me feel. Seems as though she should still be just a little baby...
Anybody have any ideas on party themes? I'm going to be working a lot and probably not as much help to Betsy as she'd like.
