The Last Hurrah

Jul 10, 2006 19:03

The past Saturday was the end of it all for some. The final party, the last hurrah. As expected Yamaguchi-ken came up spades in antics, drink and drama. For me, I mostly played witness to another year gone by and the people it's taking with it. I don't shed tears at these sort of things because I don't like goodbyes, and somehow things tend to move in circles in life. They say college is where you meet your contacts and lifelong friends but I think it's been on the JET Programme that I've staked out fellow humans as worthy for later look-ups. So beware leaver's (and stayers). I didn't win a button for recognition of "exceptional effort in dominance and sovereignty" for nothing. I will remember you people. And I will drop by.

click for the video of the crowning (mostly for Jenn!)

*also be sure to check out Rosie's page for more videos. (seriously not to be missed) (unless that kind of stuff embarasses you)

Here is a more eloquent account of the night.

Mojiko Brewery: Real beer, fine foods, and Mark digs for treasure.

Beer Station: Suave characters, 80's dancing, romance on the floor, and fruits of labor under admiration.

Antics: See the legends of the ken, say farewell to the fist and watch an octopus chase a big potato.

P.S. Those of you with more evidence of this night I would love to have more. Exchangey?

And, not without mention is "No Name". (I got to babysit him all weekend!)
