It seems I was wrong about Google History; it apparently doesn't store copies of the pages you visit, just links. So it's no good for "what that page said when I saw it on that day" kinda stuff. And its search doesn't seem to work. And I've decided that, given all your content are belong to Google, its limited functionality does not justify its risk. So I've paused it forever. [*]
[* That's as opposed to deleting it, because the information they've already recorded has some value to me, and is relatively innocuous.]
