(no subject)
I don't think anyone reads my long journal entries, so I shall keep this one shortish. I'll keep it off specific topics and focus on dumb little tid bits of my life. I'm at work. It sucks. I have been busting my ass all day. Sometimes I love it here, others I despise it. I love the majority of people I'm around, others can bite me. Oh, but I do have hilarious moments to document, one of which involves a new woman named Cindy. Cindy is probably in her mid 50s and was hired by the nonprofit organization Admetech who share our office. She seems like a smart lady, but she has her moments. This morning she came up to me and said, "Ummm this may sound silly. . .but do you know how to work these phones?" She handed me one of Admetech's cordless phones, and I merely handed it back to her and said, "I dunno, I think the same way you use all other phones. Push the buttom and dial." (I am a smart ass who can mask it by having a pleasant tone of voice :-D) So she keeps trying to dial out and I tell her that I am all out of ideas. About an hour later she calls to me from her office, "Hey. . .I got the phone to work. It was unplugged." Then a long pause. "Just in case you thought I wasn't right in the head or anything." I HAD TO LEAVE THE ROOM IN ORDER TO LAUGH. Man, hilarious. Then, Cindy comes up to me in the afternoon and says, "Are we the only women in this office?" To which I replied, "Ummm yes I suppose you, me and Amanda are the only ones why?" Then she says, "Oh, well, does that mean we have to buy the soap for the bathroom?" I told her no, trying so hard not to laugh out loud. Then I went to the ladies room and let it all out (laughing of course, don't be gross). My third encounter with Cindy was in later afternoon while I was at the copy machine. She siddled up next to me without making a peep and said, "So are there any tricks to using this machine or what??" It scared the hell out of me because I didn't hear her come up. The woman is a menace. Tricks? Nah ya put in the code and press start! Cripes. Anyways, on to other business. . .
My pal's band just started an east coast tour today. I am so proud of them. They are going to go places. . I know it.
Ummmmm found myself giving advice to an ex's ex girlfriend. It was bizarre, but she was receptive and thankful it seemed. I hope what I said made some sort of dent. Break ups are tough, I'm always willing to chat even if it's not with a friend.
Ever revisit an album that you forgot was so amazing? I am doing that with Portishead "Dummy" right now. So fucking good. Beth Gibson is incredible. Too bad she smokes like a damn chimney. The woman is gunna die!
I guess that's it. Movie tonight with my roomie/friend/brother Erik. Pretty low key. I shall update again soooooooon.
