Hey Chelskel:
It’s nice that you like this guy emotionally, but what does you mind and spirit have to say about him? Is he a Christian? Will a relationship with him bring you closer to God or drag you away? Does he enjoy spending time with you in a group setting or only when you two can be alone? Infatuation with someone doesn’t necessarily mean that you love that person just that you find them nice to look at. There was a girl that I thought I really liked. I just wanted to be around her all the time. I would walk by just to see her. She wasn’t a Christian, so I rationalize that I could witness to her and get her to come to church. I was wrong. She came to church a couple of times, but wasn’t interested in getting to know Jesus. It was a way to kill a few hours. Finally, the Holy Spirit convicted me that I was loosing my first love like the church of Ephesus in Revelation. It was not easy, but I had to stop thinking/ spending time around cause it was dragging me away from spending time with God. Let’s just say that I was not very chipper for a while, but God kept me close to him. Just something to think about and remember, if the relationship is from God. He will make it work out in his timing and confirm that it’s from him with family and friends and most importantly, by his word. Pastor Tony Ward used this illustration before. If you give your heart to someone, they take a piece of your heart with them. The next time that you give your heart to someone, it’s not your whole heart that you are giving them. Multiply that by how many times you give your heart away before you meet your future husband. How much of a heart will you have to give to your husband? ½ a heart? ¼? 1/16? Something to consider. Just be cautious. God bless you. I hope this doesn't sound super mean, but I just don't want to see you get hurt.

Love in Christ

Gary
