[The camera flips on to reveal a brunette, settled on to her bed with a single braid trailing down her back. Her knees are drawn up against her chest, and it's clear that instead of sleeping? She's been thinking. Her chin tilts, and she addresses the screen directly]So there's this thing I do. In new places, or situations or when I don't exactly ( Read more... )

Hi! You new as well? I'm Wanda.

Look, if you want a place to start besides the standard ones, I'm in 4-3 and like visitors. I've got piles of good music, I've got some Dead Can Dance, buncha books...offer's open, ok?

[Wanda knows about attacks of the shys. She has crippling ones.]

I'm --- [Fred considers how to answer that] --yes. Yes, I'm still new. And I'm just one floor up from you, in 5-14.

I'll definitely have to take you up on that offer sometime soon.

I'm a Goth. I like "Devil Went Down to Georgia" and that's about it for country.

Oh hey, physics geeking. I have some books from the last Port on physics if you want a look....

[Well that's certainly perked her interest]

Do you really? I wonder if all the core theories are the same, of if there's come variations to account for our shift. Or even the ports themselves...

I can't tell yet, I haven't caught up with modern physics in my word. But I picked up some "classic texts" as well, so once I get through psych to physics...

...be interesting if the basic laws of physics were different depending on where we go, but also pretty mindbending.

It's a interesting idea. But then to shake the notion that there isn't something fundamental tying everything together.
