i'm going to try and re-create what i wrote just a few minutes ago, before my internet connection timed out and kicked me off, erasing my somewhat jumbled entry.
being in an unfimiliar place allows you to acknowledge things about yourself and yourlife, that you wouldn't normally take into account while somewhere comfortable. i've never left home for a considerable amount of time, but even when i'm gone for a week or so, i always hope i will be missed while i'm away. hope that things won't change, people won't change, and i won't miss out on too much. and when i get home i always ask on what i did miss out on and the answer is always the same. nothing. oh please, something has to happen. nothing ever happens. even when the something isn't too much, it's never nothing. it's a disappointment.
i don't feel like my fun quota has been fulfilled this past year.
i think i'm due for some.
it's hard though when the person i can alwasy count on for a good time, is off at college. (;])
the one thing i love about indiana and can always count on for entertainment (besides the people here) are the trains. they always come at the same time every day, three hours after the last time they came speeding through town. the same cute old man hanging on for dear life on the caboose, waving to the eager little kids who are outside, waiting for the trians end. waiting till they know it's safe, so they can rush out on the tracks, frantically searching for the coins they placed on the metal earlier in the day.only to take them home and drop them in the jar sitting next to another glass jar holding fireflies captive. which i was informed by a little 6 year-old today, "mandy did you know that fireflies are really beatles. and if you put a jar of them in warm water, alll of their butts will light up?"
mm, speaking of trains, here's one now.
i think the echo of the horn throughout the town is the coolest.
my dog fell down the stairs twice today.
and by fall i mean, tumble backwards down them.
i'm amazed at how not a single bone in her body is broken.
that 15 year-old dog got up, showing no sign of weakness, and went back to sniffing things.
i'm pretty much an interior decorating expert now.
i was given the opportunity to re-decorate the entire main level of the house here.
my favorite paint color is belgium waffle.
my sister and i used that in the foyer.
it's a happy color to first walk in to.
alright, i'm just rambling now.
i saw a Laguna Beach t-shirt in Target yesterday.
of course, most teenagers here are overweight so all they had were xl's.
not too cute. but that's alright, cause having the first season on dvd makes it better.
hahaha, you know. ;)
alright, i guess i'll go watch a movie or something.
oh no wait, it's 11:45, conan is on.
night loves.
