Okay, so...

My car was stolen on Saturday night while I was at work. I parked it in the employee parking at my lame assed job at about 2:30pm. When I came back at 11:30pm, my car wasn't there any more. At about 4:30 in the morning, the cops informed me that they recovered my car. It was missing the stereo and wheels. Someone had left it sitting on the concrete about 20 minutes from where I parked it. I went to a tire shop to price out new rims and found out that they would cost about $1200.

Instead of spending all of my money for the next quarter, my brother and I drove all the way to Grass Valley to pick up the old tires and rims from James. From there we drove to San Francisco so Jeff could see Betty at her parent's house. After that, Jeff and I drove around the city randomly until we found an all night diner called "King's." They looked horrible, but their bacon burgers were great. It was very late at night, but we stopped by the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office to pick up the release for my car.

The next day, we drove to the towing place. I spent a huge amount of money just to pay for the towing and release of my car. The car was sitting on the pavement outside the office. At first I thought that a window was broken. It was covered with a black trash bag. It had rained during the night and the inside on the driver's side was soaked. The stereo was gone, the rims were obviously gone, they stole my flashlight and my laptop was gone.

I have all of my data backed up off of my laptop, but it is still an expensive piece of equipment. I still have my cellphone, so I can talk to people online, but I won't be writing many more entries like this one anytime soon. I'm just really glad I backed up my music collection, my school papers and all of the important programs and movies.

We drove to some place called "Bruce's Tires," filled up the tires I had gotten from Grass Valley and replaced one that had a nail through the side. We went back to the towing place and paid some people there to help us put on the tires with their equiptment. After I started the car, I rolled up the driver's side window. It hadn't been smashed, it was just rolled down. Yay for silver linings. We drove to an In n' Out to get some dinner and make sure the car was still drivable.

Jeff and I saw King Kong at a movie theater in the In n' Out parking lot. Jeff really has no money until the beginning of next quarter, and he spent a lot of time driving me around in the last few days.

Anyway, I will be taking my car to a mechanic tomorrow to make sure the undercarriage is not damaged. I will still be on MSN and Yahoo messenger, but if I'm logged into AIM, it's probably a car thief. Say "Hi" for me.

I'm going to be moving into my new place in San Jose on Wednesday. Jeff is going to try to find me a computer to use until I can afford a new one. Also, I still need to register for next quarter's classes. Busy busy.
