As a bio major I'm no stranger to the all-nighter, the trick is trying to pull off more than one in a row.
I managed to pull off a successful all-nighter on Wednesday, but needed to do another one on Thursday because there just wasn't enough hours in a day to finish everything I needed to do by Friday. In retrospect, I should've been able to finish my ichthyology and animal physiology report fairly quickly, but the internet was being a bitch and I only managed to download the software I needed by 2:30am. It felt like dial-up all over again. FUUU- D: On the upside, I was not late for my 7:30am class the next day - downside, I was groggy the entire day. SABAW
I got home around 6:00, slept for a bit and woke up for dinner. My eyes were burning and I kept tearing up uncontrollably. Never mind all the stuff I needed to do, I needed to take a nap. In my experience, after you've been awake for a certain number of hours (my limit is ~38hrs), you will inevitably crash (aka
the near-coma). And I crashed hard. Fell asleep at around 8:30pm and abruptly woke up at 4am. First thought: "What time is it? 4am?! FUUUUUUUUU-".
NOT a good start to my day. I hurriedly turned on my laptop to submit my answer for my ecology exam, died a little bit inside when I checked my email and phone to realize I still had to do a paper for cell bio, and just had to laugh when I remembered about my sigsheet. EFF YOU SIGSHEET. DAMMIT. HASSLE MUCH?
It took me an hour to post and then rewrite my ecology exam. Decided to say "fuck it" and pass my cell bio paper late - after txting my groupmate who had also just woken up after a nap-that-went-too-far. Sigsheet would have to be crammed later in the day (What is least priority? Hahaha)
Thankfully, the ecology exam stress was over by 12noon. And I found out earlier that the cell bio paper wasn't due till next week. :D
I had an hour and 30 minutes to do my sigsheet (cut-up the pictures and paper, glue everything together), which doesn't seem that hard - but it was 50+ pages of paper, so yeah. I was pretty amazed at myself for finishing everything in such a short period of time - it was far from perfect (and from what I originally had in mind), but at least it was something. Ehh, you work with what life gives you. Ecology lab went by smoothly and I went home feeling ten times better than when I woke up.
Got a txt from Jo-anne about the MBS Apps Party, was feeling impulsive so I decided to go. PLUS, I haven't seen Jo-anne in a while (Bio has swallowed me alive) and we needed to catch up. I said yes before actually considering the fact that I may not even be allowed to leave the house, but my dad took it well enough. Finally managed to leave the house at around 9:00. I thought that was a bit late for a party that supposedly started at 7:00, but when we got there it hadn't even started.
One of my friends is applying to MBS this sem, and can I just say that going to the apps party was one of my better decisions of the day. After enduring weeks of him teasing me for what I did during Buddy Bidding, it was finally payback time. >:) Hey, its not my fault they decided to call their batch SEAduction. AHAHAHA >:)) That night I confirmed that I really can't stand the taste of beer. Mixed drinks only plz. I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't think I realized just how quickly and how much I was drinking until we were standing in the kitchen and my head started spinning and looking down at the floor suddenly felt like leaning over the edge of a cliff. Chicken dipped in chili con carne sauce made everything better, though. Well, that and last minute ice cream from McDo. There was also some buddy drama towards the end of the night, but ehh I'm over it.
