I see that the enticing cut text has lured you into my Typhoon Frank post. haha. There are more pictures to come, but before I get to that..
WHAT IN THE FRAKKING HELL, FRANK?!
Typhoon Frank recently exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. He didn't leave quietly, though. -__-
Iloilo was hit really hard by the typhoon - so hard, in fact, that the Dingle Dam collapsed. My mom said that the our subdivision was flooded pretty quickly (like, 20 minutes or so). The water got into our house. :( The flood only lasted a day, but the damage had already been done. Good thing our house has a second floor, and all of the important documents and such were up there and away from the water. But what about everyone else, right? Camille and her family had to stay in the 2nd floor of their neighbor's house [for two days] since their house doesn't have a second floor. agh. And then there are all those other people who lost their houses and/or loved ones. :(
In lieu of more depressing sentences, here are some pictures (from Kenneth's friendster).
LOL Ate Danna :))
See that car in the middle of the empty lot? Apparently, no one has any idea whose it is. [I kind of feel bad for laughing at that. haha]
Our muddy driveway is attractive. Y/Y?
The water got into the cars. -__- From these, you can sort of guess how high the water was.
And that's someone's ass. I have no idea who that is.
Our garden is so..brown
more attractiveness. I can only imagine the cleaning (aka hell). @_@ Most of our furniture is made of wood, so I guess a day spent underwater won't really do THAT much damage. And that couch has linoleum-like upholstery (I forget what the exact word for that is), so it won't be gross.
ugh. brown water. I think that's the view from the back of the house.
view from the front of the house. The ones from the last flood are
here for comparison.
That seemingly random clump of leaves in the third picture is actually the top view of our trellis, and the fourth one is the top of the nipa hut.
Alundra was the only dog (among our three) smart enough to push open the kitchen door and climb up the stairs to higher ground.
I have no idea where the other two went, but wherever it was must have been safe since they didn't drown. :P
aaaggghh.
My piano is underwater. It's under there..somewhere TT__TT And to think that the last time there was a flood, my mom was talking about how fucked my piano would be if the water got into the house again.
Well, whaddayaknow. grargh. My dad says we can still get it fixed, though. >_<
Floating sungka board. LOL
That floating thing in the second picture is our TV rack/shelf, which means that the TV is probably floating somewhere nearby.
And check it out, the painting I did when I was in the third grade didn't get wet! :D
At least that's all over with. Hopefully they can get rid of the awful flood water smell (since my mom says that's the hardest part). -_-
