This is possibly one of the Aiuchi songs that I REALLY REALLY love. I really enjoy the little echoed lines in the chorus. Like a lot of Aiuchi's older works, Painted Black is highly dancable and really fun to listen to. This particular song has a trance-y feel to it. The first dancey-song of the post =O.

Song Title : La garde robe d'Elisabeth

XD Someone (HI GEMMY) requested more Amélie. This is a more upbeat song than the previous song, and is a really amusing song if you understand French. It's basically a song about how the narrator (Elisabeth) takes too long to dress herself XD. Even if you don't understand the lyrics, the song is really fun to listen to and it has a bit of an older, traditional French sound to it (especially the use of an accordian).

I first heard this in French class, and I adore the song. Like Amelie above, she has an immense use of humour in her music and generally likes to make fun of a lot of stuff (there's one song where she immitates the Quebecois accent XD). This particular song makes fun of those overly lovey-dovey couples. The song itself uses only acoustic guitar as an accompaniment.

Song Title : ONE WAY

This is the first song that I heard from Thelma, and I was immediately hooked to her. Her album was a bit of a bore for me, but she is quite a good singer. Her style is mostly R&B, and I especially like this particular song becase it's catchy and Aoyama puts a lot of energy into this song.

One of my friends is a big fan of Carla Bruni. If you don't know her, she's the wife to French president Nicolas Sarkozy. Unlike popular models (yeah, she's a model) who pull off soulless music, Bruni's music is actually quite pleasant. This is a soft, acoustic song that I had stuck in my head days after my friend played this song in class.

... can I really have a post without some Vienna Teng? XD HI GEMMY. Magnetic North is a rap duo made up of a guy and a girl, and they're mostly known for their cover of Drift Away (in some Asian-music listening circles anyways). The chorus is sung by Vienna, while the verses are done by the duo. I really like the haunting piano backing.

This is not the soundtrack version, but the version sung on the DVD of the musical Notre Dame de Paris, so it has the actual Esmeralda that was on stage (Helene Sagara). DAMMIT I LOVE THIS MUSICAL D:. This song is a pretty duet between both Esmerald and Quasimodo. =O
