So, I'm not sure if I've posted about this before, but I pass this "assisted living" place on my way to and from work. On Father's day (and on apparently random days thereafter) a wonderful set of two signs appeared in the manicured lawn outside: "Have you hugged your father today?" "We have!".
I'll just let that sink in. Does that creep anyone else out? Because I got serious creepy vibes from those signs. Don't touch my elderly parent, you molesters.
In other news, I did some serious retail therapy tonight. Among the items purchased: A(nother) purse, a nifty green warmup jacket, a pair of jeans that I'm not entirely satisfied with, two metal mesh CD bins, a set of weird gel sticky stars to go on my fridge (are they magnets? No! They have no use except to stick to my fridge or any other flat nonporous surface), two pairs of shoes (one of which is white leather kitten-heeled pointy-toed! 80's fabulous, the other being a neat pair of Diesel maryjanes that are taupe and red), and a knit poncho/wrap. I also went online and bought the first two books of Robin Hobb's Tawny Man series. I've read all her other series, and they all *rock* hardcore. She is highly recommended.
But alas, I am running out of fantasy authors to read, and am wary (for good reason) of just picking something up that looks interesting. Please give me recommendations!
