http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_reiser Here's how I see it: The man's pissed off at his wife. She's being a huge bitch, and she simply won't see his side of the argument. She goes to the cops to claim he's beating her. There's no evidence of abuse, but she gets a restraining order on the claim that he 'pushed' her. He's forced to leave his own home, and the wife gets custody of the children. It's possible she could be cheating on him in his own house. Some time passes, and she comes by to drop the kids off at his place. Argument ensues. He goes into a fit of rage and kills her. This is a smart, logical guy. He's just fucked over his own life (and ended hers, of course). What can he do? Well, gotta act fast. Put her body in his CRX and bury it somewhere safe.
After what cleanup he can do, he gets some books on homicide investigation in an attempt to stay ahead of the law. Among other things, he finds that the passenger seat of the CRX she was in probably has too much forensic evidence on it. Remove the seat and trash it. Clean the floor of the car good (when they confiscated the car, the seat was missing, and the floorboards had been soaked with water).

He's being held without bail, and now he's selling his company and all the intellectual property that goes with it (The ReiserFS) in order to pay for defense attourneys.
I wonder what'll happen at the trial.
