Ain't this fun? I always wanted to break into Wolfram and Hart through the sewers, with Lilah Morgan, my former partner in crime, in tow. Not to mention the walking attitude she had with her when she came to the Hyperion ( Read more... )

"Yes, children, please stop bickering." Okay, whatever it was at the far end of the sewer, it had Lilah spooked. Now that was something I never thought I'd see. Better call Ripley's. We were just under the exit, but the thing moved too fast and was on us in a matter of seconds. I had to squint to really believe it, "Mom?"

"My baby girl, why are you here?" "Mom, people are dying, I have to help..." "No, you don't, love. The world won't crumble and fall away like you dreamed when you were a little girl. The world is full of people, like him, like her," My mother nodded to Faith, the Vampire Slayer. "She is everything you'll never be, my sweet girl. She is stronger than you'll ever be. You can tell by her eyes." I glance back and look at the Slayer, everything I'd hoped I'd one day be, her eyes big like saucers. I could see her lips moving, but no words were coming out. "You were always weak, do you remember what you did to her?"

"Stop it!" I screamed.

Doesn't she look like her?" I looked to Faith again, and sure enough her face had changed slightly, her eyes a deep brown, so brown they were almost black, her cheeks were full, a small button nose. "No, she doesn't..." "You remember Sera, don't you, dear? You killed her. She wants revenge for what you did to her. She wants to kill you." I frowned, a deep growl coming from my throat, I looked at Sera, and sure enough, it wasn't Sera, it was the other. Faith. The woman I looked up to and despised all in one. I wanted to kill her. Rip out her throat.

"What's stopping you...?"

I considered this for a moment, my hands clenched to my sides. It didn't make sense. Sera loved me... and Faith was a white hat. A good guy, despite some evil deeds. Why would I hurt them? "You're right," a defiant smile crossed my face, "What is stopping me?" And like that I spun around, kicking my mother (or what looked like my mother) in the side of the head. "Woo! I've been wanting to do that for eighteen years!" I grinned, stepping up to the creature that had defiled my mother's spirit, hitting it to the side of the head repeatedly, "You have no power over me."
