in a few weeks, my computer will finally be complete. so far, my setup is.

Asus A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard with nForce 4 Chipset

Corsair XMS Series Dual Channel DDR400 SDRAM (2x512mb)

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Socket 939

Maxtor Ultra16 250gb UltraATA Hard Drive (data drive)

Antec SmartPower 500W Powersupply.

what i have left to buy is

BFG Tech. nVidia GeForce 7800GT graphics card

Western Digital Raptor 74gb 10,000rpm Serial ATA Hard drive (system drive)

Viewsonic 17" VX724 LCD Monitor

Windows XP Professional (OEM)

Creative Labs X-Fi Xtreme Music 7.1 Channel Soundcard (optional)

i'm going to do a run Windows XP Pro and SUSE Linux on the computer (since my dad has an extra copy of SUSE). the graphics card and the monitor are going to be the two hard parts to get funding for. on newegg.com i have found the oem of xp pro for like...140 bucks, which is less than half the price of the full liscence retail box.

only drawbacks of the oem version are: i don't get as much support from microsoft (like i'd want to talk to those bastards anyway), and once i install it on this machine, it is tied to this machine forever (if you uninstall the retail version from one computer, you can install it on another), but that's not much of a drawback, because if i ever needed to install xp pro on another machine, i can just buy another oem copy and it would still be cheaper than buying the full lisence.

does anybody reading this even care? molly? leise?
