Okay, since I'm feeling loserish, sleepy and bored, I'm just gonna right and such...let's see what comes of it...
So, right now I'm listening to 'Freight' from StEx. Poor freights...but they really aren't as cool as electric or the coaches. Pearl to the extreme! U-N-C-O-U-P-L-E-D! Musicals really teach you how to spell. I can now sing and spell at the same time! Uncoupled, Scadenfreude, Boanthropy, Hassenpfeffer. Hurray. It's moved on to AC/DC. I like this song too. Rich, hot, powerful. Rich, hot, cool! I am electric, the future is me! AC/DC it's okay by me! And now it's Role of a Lifetime from BARE.
Wanna know how much I love Into the Woods?
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________-that much plus a million more lines. Wanna know why? Yeah, it's about fairy tales which are false, and silly and made up, but that Sondheim put something into it that I just can't describe. Feeling, emotions! Little Red Riding Hood isn't just a foolish little girl. In the end she's matured, and she's a real person. Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack..Sondheim made them not just fairy tales! Which I love. 'No One is Alone' is just about the most touching musical song I think I know. More than 'For Good', 'I Should Tell You' or even 'Memory'. No one is alone! I'm gonna type out all the lyrics to show ya'll how much this song rocks!
CINDERELLA: Mother cannot guide you
Now you're on your own.
Only me beside you,
still you're not alone.
No one is alone,
truley, no one is alone.
Sometimes people leave you
halfway through the wood.
Others may decieve you,
you decide what's good.
You decide alone,
but no one is alone.
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD: I wish..
CINDERELLA: I know. Mother isnt here now
(BAKER: Wrong things, right things)
who know's what she'd say.
(BAKER: Who can say what's true?)
Nothing's quite so clear now,
(BAKER: Do things, fight things.)
feel you've lost your way.
(Baker: You decide--)
BAKER+CINDERELLA: You are not alone.
CINDERELLA: Believe me, no one is alone.
BAKER: No one is alone, believe me.
CINDERELLA: Truley.
BAKER+CINDERELLA: You move just a finger,
say the slightest word.
Something's bond to linger,
be heard.
BAKER: No one acts alone,
careful, no one is alone.
BAKER+CINDERELLA: People make mistakes!
BAKER: Fathers,
CINDERELLA: Mothers,
BAKER+CINDERELLA: People make mistakes.
Holding to their own,
thinking they're alone.
CINDERELLA: Honor their mistakes,
everybody makes.
BAKER+CINDERELLA: One another's terrible mistakes,
witches can be right, giants can be good.
You decide what's right, you decide what's good.
CINDERELLA: Just remember,
BAKER: Just remember
BAKER+CINDERELLA: Someone is on your side-
LRRH and JACK: Our side.
BAKER+CINDERELLA: Someone else is not. While we're seeing our side-
LRRH and JACK: Our side.
ALL: Maybe we forgot. They are not alone,
no one is alone.
CINDERELLA: Hard to see the light now,
BAKER: Just don't let it go.
BAKER+CINDERELLA: Things will come out right now,
we can make it so.
Someone is on your side.
No one is alone.
What a beautiful song. The finale kinda tears my eyes as well. But maybe that's just cause it's ending. <3 for ITW.
23 days until WPR. Wow. I can't believe it. We got those acceptance letters in what? April? March? I'm thinking about it now, and thinking about what I'm going to see/smell/feel when I'm there...I'll see horses, the ranch house, the barn, the dorms, the giant acres of land. I'll smell the horses, the food once I walk into the Ranch house. And I'll feel like I never left. I'm gonna have the time of my life this summer...my mom told me that. In those exact words! And she doesn't even know they play Good Riddance at the end! I'm gonna be with Elle for seven weeks. I'm gonna be with Eli for seven weeks! Elle is gonna be with Joe for seven weeks! And yeah, I know I'm going there as a counselor...but I'm excited for the social aspect as well! Wow. I'm just in awe.
Elle, this summer's gonna ROCK!
