"I have an idea...And feel free to shoot me down, but I have a spare room...and if you wanted, you could stay with me for a while...at least until you get everything more settled. You shouldn't have to worry about not having anywhere to live on top of just getting out of a coma.""I don't know if that's a good idea ( ... )

"I wouldn't have offered if I minded, Cordy." I assured her, smiling. "My place is plenty big enough. And it's not like there's a ton of rules or anything. So long as I can actually find the floor in places, and there isn't food decomposing in places that aren't the trash can, it's all good. Promise."

You'd think after 5 years in a cave, I'd be more than used to living alone and like things that way, but I missed having people around, and I hated coming home from the lab to an empty apartment.

"We'll work something out so you'll be able to have the apartment to yourself whenever you want it, and like I said, it's plenty big enough that we won't be in each other's way all the time." I told her.

"So, what do you say?" I asked hopefully.

"So, what do you say?"

How could I resist? A kind offer from a dear old friend; the only one I might have left. I still don't know what the secret is, or if Angel and the gang are going to be happy to see me. For all I know, Fred's being an optimist, and Wesley is going to suggest that I try not to let the door hit me in the ass on my way out.

I think I'd better appreciate the friendship that I know I have left.

"I say I'd love to."

Unless there's writing on her walls, or the only cable channels she gets somehow relate to science.

A human roommate. Well, that's a step.

"Great." I couldn't help but grin when she agreed. "You won't be sorry, Cordelia, I promise."

Part of me was a little surprised she'd actually agreed, but I guess she realised she really didn't have a lot of options right now, and maybe having somewhere to go was better than worrying about it.

"I'm pretty sure Angel put all your stuff in storage, so we'll get it later, but first let's get you some clothes, then you can go talk to Angel." I smiled to her.

Oh I'll "talk to" him alright. If there's more screaming than talking no one will be able to blame me. I'm anticipating that something very bad has happened, and if that's the case, I can throw it all on Angel for making the decision.

I go into a coma, and all hell breaks loose.

"Sounds like a plan."

I wish I could say it was a good one, but who knows. Judging by the way Fred has this new development sounding like the biggest mistake they've ever made, I can't be optimistic.

It's Angel.

"Thought so." I smiled to her. "My car's in the garage." I added, as I lead her from the room, silently thankful that I didn't actually have a reason to visit medical every day anymore.

I knew Cordy was going to go balistic when she figured out where we were, and I was really kind of glad I wasn't the one that had to tell her we were running Wolfram & Hart. It was better that Angel tell her. They tended to handle big news from each other a lot better than anywhere else.
