So today I was having a SEA History Consultation with Ms Oon that went like SEA History Consultations always do, when I came up with a not-so-bright idea to ask for her opinion on what SEA Studies at NUS is like (stop laughing plz) & the whole Teaching Scholarship thing.
Turns out I shouldn't have, because her reaction was like this -
Ms Oon: o.O (keeps incredulous look on her face for 245685729 agonizing seconds)
Me: Umm.. Yeah I went for the Scholarship Tea Session thingy and now I'm not sure...
Ms Oon: YOU want to be a TEACHER???
Ehhhhhh I don't look like I can be teacher mehzzz? :(
(Don't answer that.)
Despite that major blow to my aspirations, I found out a lot of stuff about SEA Studies, which I'll put up here 'cos I know Weijun will want to read it :D Basically you get to learn about the region in terms of its Culture, Political Studies, History (duh) & Economics, plus THE BEST THING is that its compulsory to learn one of the SEA languages & if you get chosen for some programme, you get to go to that country for a cross-cultural immersion thing for 6 months. It sounds good, or maybe that's just me. Literature? SEA Studies? Communications & New Media? Sociology? :/
But first, must pass A'Levels. Shit.
