breaking the silence

I am leaving for Colorado tomorrow, coming back the 8th. I get to fly, and go through security, oh joy. NOT looking forward to that. I'm also trying to find out if TSA lets people put blue ice packs in either carryon or checked bags, because one of my presents is fudge and truffles, and they have a nasty habit of melting if they're not kept cold. I sent them an email yesterday but they sent one back saying due to the billions of other queries coming in, it may take up to 10 days to reply. not really useful. so if anybody knows one way or the other, please tell me.

I got some excellent presents. Christmas in general was very good this year despite no one having any money. wyatt and I went to visit his parents christmas eve, and went to my parents for christmas day. it worked out very well. all my family was 1. there and 2. awake all day.

I made vanilla ricotta poundcake, gingerbread cookies, white chocolate lemon truffles, iced anise cookies, maple walnut fudge, and chocolate cherry mini cupcakes. every single one turned out amazingly, undoubtedly because my cursed kitchen was not involved at any stage. instead, I used the kitchens of ConHQ, my mom, and wyatt.

after months of my mom telling me that I ought to start a blog, I am considering it. it would be for things I want to be more public than stuff here; mostly stuff you wouldn't want to read anyway - stuff on politics and religion - as well as things that would be enhanced by pictures, such as my cooking and crafts, and how I integrate being traditional and belonging to subculture. so far I've made myself the rule of thumb that as long as I can't think of a good name for it, I won't have one. but if I do, then I'll make one. hopefully I'll post more there than I do here. : ) and I'll do more identity-obscuring than I do here, if people want.

=^.^=

christmas, domestic goddess, update, wyoming, wyatt
