wasn't "Return to Oz" bad enough, with the mooshing together of several books?

"Josh Olson is a screenwriter living in Los Angeles. His screenplay for the film A History of Violence was nominated for the WGA award, the BAFTA and an Academy Award. He co-wrote The Discarded with author Harlan Ellison for ABC’s Masters of Science Fiction series. He adapted the Dennis Lehane story 'Until Gwen,' which he is also directing, and is currently adapting L. Frank Baum’s Oz books for Warner Bros."

NOOOO!!

STAY AWAY FROM THE OZ BOOKS!!

man, this is NOT a good time to be a sci-fi/fantasy lover. books are getting massacred right and left. I'm frightened for who they might have play the Rainbow's daughter, for example. and what they make of the Glass Cat. and I know they won't but it'd be cool and much better than typical Hollywood, but I hope for the city of foxes they cast a whole bunch of real live hard core fox furries. I'm TERRIFIED of what they'll do to the dialogue. it's already very simplistic on the surface, and I just know they won't understand the undertones and will ruin it completely.

I found this by reading a great big huge news story linked from Dave's livejournal, and this was at the end in the "about the author" part.
