У меня поденельничный вопрос.
Дочь наша, царевна Будур несравненная Анна, успешно прошла тестирование по ITBS и CoGat и ей было предложено место в одном из спец. классов (Elementary Advanced Program - EAP for highly capable students) на следующий учебный год

We had the same "problem" with my daughter and were the only among 2-3 people that left our school for GT center, b/c I wanted better school, with 4 classes, etc. Now my daughter is back with those who she went to school during year 1 and 2, I do not think she gained much more in new school, but socially when she is 13, she doesn't know "local" kids and I think they are not very much interested in knowing her. So she is an "outsider", which I do not like...
My son is in the same situation now (2nd grade), he will stay at a local school, I do not want for him to be "special"... Local school is strong enough....

У нас похожее решение было сделано за нас - дочь не поступила в "школу для умных" в младшей школе и осталась в школе за углом. Имела много времени на разные дополнительные занятия задания и спорт. С 9 лет ходила сама домой. Все друзья были из окрестных домов. Имела средний балл приближающийся к 100% и поступила в "школу для умных" в 7 классе вместе со своими друзьями из школы за углом. Но теперь она "miss popularity" и мне это тоже не нравится. :)

1. sorry for my English... you know me, I do not speak English to anyone, unless they pay me - like at work :)
2. I here you regarding your daughter... mine is not "suffering" for being a dork, but I think it will catch up with her in high school, and that what worries me (I do pretend I do not care, so she doesn't feel it from me)
3. I also worry, that her grades are getting all over the map, especially in her strongest subjects - Algebra, Geometry + she doesn't do any sports :((( and I cannot make her...

Получается, что 2 никак не влияет на 3. Те, кто не хотят напрягаться, найдут способ не напрягаться. Социальный статус тут не при чем. И школа тоже. :) Мне кажется это идет из семьи/генетики. В нашем роду нет ни одного overachievier. С чего вдруг дочери им стать? You don't strike me as an overachiever either. (Sorry if I misjudged).
