That'd probably work, actually... I don't think I'll be getting the dress until the end of July. (I already know it doesn't fit though, because my waist is too big)
The best way to find roommates is probably asking people you already know, and maybe being open to a small commute. There are other ways that might work, like looking for roomies on the craigslist 'shared housing' page... but you might end up living with a prostitute. Or worse, a jock. ;) As long as she's clean, and doesn't murder her clients...?
Actually, it looks like there are quite a few craigs-listings for the upper west side. It might be nice to move in with someone who already knows their way around, etc - but I'd definitely recommend talking to them over the phone before actually taking the plunge.
