I spent the weekend shopping and wrapping presents for the family and for the kids that we're throwing the party for. It didn't take long to lose myself in the spirit of the holiday, especially when Taylor, Connor and I stopped at some of the shelters I used to stay at when I lived on the streets, and dropped off boxes of food and clothes. There were a couple of kids at one of the shelters we visited on Sunday and Taylor asked if we could take a few of the presents we had in the back of the van to them.
The look on those kids faces when Taylor gave them the presents and told them they didn't have to wait till Christmas to open them? Man, that is what this season is about, you know? Especially when Taylor looked so happy when he sat down to help one of the little boys put batteries in the remote control car and then taught him how to use the controller.
I went to my classes early today and got the assignments that I missed while I was gone. It's going to take most of the Winter break for me to catch up, but the last day of classes is tomorrow, so I'll have plenty of time.
I've got to call Cordy and see if she wants to do some last minute shopping tomorrow and find out what time she wants Taylor and me to go to the hotel to decorate for the party. I should check with Connor and see if he plans to attend the party or if he'll be alright with Taylor and me going on our own.
