Finally heard back from the film school (four days after the supposed deadline), and... I'm not in, but I've been selected as an alternate. If anyone drops out between now and August, I'm next in line. Or possibly second or third in line, I'm not exactly sure yet. I know people who were alternates and got in; I also know people who were alternates and didn't. So, it's still up in the air.
Still, this is good news. If nothing else, a much needed booster shot for my self esteem. Waiting up to three more months for closure won't be fun but I've had two months of practice now so I guess I can handle it.
