a Christmas travelogue, part 1

First I traveled to the beautiful and futuristic city of Phoenix

to visit the beautiful and futuristic el_avocado.

We mostly hung out, ate at some fine restaurants, including the Veggie House where I enjoyed some fine faux chicken,

enjoyed the pretty sunsets,

and visited the zoo, because I was told they had penguins, which I had never seen before. But when we got there it was dark and there were no lights near the penguin ...area. pen. whatever it's called. Undaunted, we used the only illumination available...our camera flashes. At first we were unsuccessful in locating a penguin but finally, Frank found one hiding in a corner and we strobed it unmercifully...

Poor thing.

On Wednesday the 21st, I flew from Phoenix to Los Angeles to visit Kemi. The first night she cooked us a delectable dinner

and then we played board games with some of her UCLA friends. The second day was probably the most eventful of the trip... we got up, visited UCLA campus,

went shopping, where Kemi convinced me to buy a pink shirt. (Yeah, I have no defense prepared. We'll see what happens.) That afternoon we strolled along the Hollywood Walk of Fame where we encountered...

and of course, crazy people.

And at Grauman's Chinese Theater... (Alright, alright, I'm getting the days out of order here but so what)

...and much much more!

There's much more I want to tell but, I'm getting burnt out with this post. Therefore, TO BE CONTINUED.
