"I simply argue that the cross be raised again at the centre of the marketplace, as well as on the steeple of the church. I'm recovering the claim that Jesus was not crucified in the cathedral between two candle, but on a cross between two thieves; on the town grabage heap; on the crossroads so cosmapolitan that they had to write his title in Hebrew and Latin and Greek; at the kind of place where cynics talked smut, and thieves cursed, and soldiers gambled, because that is where he died and that is what he died about. And that is where Christians should be and what Christians should be about..."

A great missional quote. Churches should be more Incarnational...reaching out to the community, and going into every area of life, not just hiding in the "church". Church can be anywhere. not just in a traditional building. And Jesus certainly didnt just stay in a temple, he was out there with the thieves, prostitutes and other "sinners" and "outcasts" that the rest of the society didn't mix with. Jesus would have to be the greatest missional leader ever, there was non that he didnt love and accept. There is hope for everyone, no matter what we are like, what we've done, who we are or where we are from...
