Well well, look at this. I mean, the convention hasn't even started, and already I've got a problem with it. This reason is why I personally won't be going. They won't allow anyone under the age of 18 into the convention. For me, this is fine, but I think its somewhat of an oversight to disallow those who are younger into an event, and their reason i quote:-
" We've decided not to let anyone under 18 in, essentially. It saves us having to segregate the Dealer's Den, Art Show and apply for separate minor liability regarding insurance."
Reason I'm so wound up about this is because Rabid has spent since last December saving up £400 to go to RBW this year, only for them to move the goal posts. This wouldn't be so bad if they had told people earlier.
I'll miss it, last November/December really finished a year of great ups and downs on a very very lofty up. Took a while to return to the feeling of being back to normality and day to day living, not to mention wiping the giant grin off my face(which gave some interesting looks at work). Having spent 4 days amongst some incredible people. Which proved to me that its not the venue, but the people that make an event truly memorable. Although the Astroturf walls in the lift were certainly amusing!
I wish them all the best of luck, but really, if you have had to have your chairman step down twice, and various other blunders, is this just an omen to what's coming next?
