"Undeclared".

So here's where I prematurely freak out about my future.
I'm going to college to pursue my dream of becoming a traveling photojournalist. Ideally I'd like to focus on nature and culture, much like the focus of National Geographic - so naturally that's my dream, to work for National Geographic as a photojournalist. And so I declared Journalism as my major. I could go on to grad school at UGA where there is the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, and MAs are offered with an option for Non-Thesis. So, I could go pretty far with this, and with my determination, I know I could do it. Practically, this would be a great degree program for me to follow because I have nearly all the requirements for core curriculum and will probably be finished up with that by the end of fall semester.
The only thing is that when I think about the real world, and about how print media is going downhill, and about how hard it will be to actually land a decently paying media career, I want to vomit.
My other interests include psychology and photography. Photography I can teach myself and learn about online - you don't need a degree to succeed, but you need the know-how, and the time to commit to it. And I must say, as much as I'd love to go to school for photography, I'm still in love with academia. Psychology would be an ideal career for me because I have had the opportunity to grow up in a household with my brother who is the only schizophrenic I know. Psychology has always been an option for me and I found my introductory class intriguing, and I can always minor in it if I want to learn more. Geoff and Robin both studied psychology in college and now have careers completely unrelated to psychology. On the one hand, psychology would satisfy my fondness for science. On the other hand, I am already almost perfectly on track for majoring in journalism. To major in psychology I would have to recreate my schedule for fall 2010 and it's already late in the summer so the chance that I'll have to get good class slots (or classes at all) is very slim.
I'm going out of town this weekend, and possibly for a couple of weeks afterwards, so I suppose I'll have time to mull this over then. But if any of you have advice to give, I'd happily take it.
