Things are good. Fred and Erin are getting married, as most of you know, but since a lot of you can't read... those are napkins, not a tattoo on his page! Jeez.

Yeah, well I saw Hitch last night. It was cute, as all romantic comedies are. It's just one of those things that you want your significant other with you, so at the end you can squeeze their hand and be happy that you're with someone that's here in real life. Instead, I went with a bunch of girls and Adam. And then I called the bf afterwards and listened to his Andrew WK voicemail to put me at ease.... it was almost like holding his hand... ;)

Laura, Jenny, and possibly Natalie are coming to visit me this coming weekend (february 20th weekend). It's going to be sweeeeet. Tracy and possibly Quetta are coming March 11, the weekend after my b-day. and Sarea is coming 2 days after laura and jenny leave on NATO from KSU. Mike is coming for spring break. Damn. I feel special.

You know, the people on this program, that I'm down here in DC with... they're really different than the people that I would ever hang out with. I mean, like meeting them would never have happened if it wasn't for this. Which is really strange to me because in Italy, Erica and I still would've met, same with the Icelanders and I. We really click personality-wise. Here...
you have Dylan- the married girl, as everyone calls her. She reminds me of my brother's girlfriend, but she's awesome. Great girl. But if we were back in Kent, I never would've met her virtually anywhere even if we had class together.
Adrianne, Carey, Michele, and Matt all did have class with me and we NEVER spoke to each other. I sat directly next to Matt all semester and not a single word was mumbled between us. I live with Adrianne and Carey now, and even when we found out while we were still in Kent, we still didn't say anything to each other. It wasn't until we were here that we actually spoke.
So it's been a different experience, a bonding experience even. Alcohol seems to help most of these kids come out of their shells a bit, me included. But I like this program... different people who I never would've met except for this trip. And I'm building relationships and friendships with them all the same. It's strange how things happen.
Should I put a moral into this story? sure, why the hell not?
here it is, talk to people around you. be nice to everyone. don't be shy, even though sometimes it may pain you to be outgoing. because... you never know when you'll meet that stranger again one day. hell, you might even be living with them next year!
