I am so thrilled right now. I finally, after two semester of fighting for it, am able to do one of the most crucial steps to doing anything on the silks. That pesky little step which I have loathed for almost half the year is simply going from a straight hang into an inverted straddle. So basically, turning myself upside-down while hanging from the silks. You have no idea how much it pissed me off that I couldn't get it. I've been strong enough, it was a dumb timing thing. But I finally have it. Eeeeee! I did it at least five or six times in class tonight, and I did two pretty much successful (close enough) climbs doing the hip key climb, which involves doing that dumb straddle entirely too many times. But I did it!
I'm so happy!
I also got a huge chunk of (mostly the more intimidating) stuff done today on my to-do list, and one of those things was balancing my check book. I discovered I'm richer than I thought I was. This makes me happy.
I'm taking piano lessons once again. I'm learning Bach Invention No. 8 in F. It's cool sounding Then for shits and giggles I pulled out the Mendelssohn concerto I was learning before I stopped and tried playing it. I had forgotten how pretty it was. So I'm going to attempt to relearn it.
Tonight I'm going to see the midnight showing of Indiana Jones. I'm really nervous, people. This could either be really good, or really bad. We'll see.... But I'm excited. I don't think I've gone to a midnight showing of anything since the Return of the King came out.
Oh! And my mommy made me a new sundress. =)
