The world has gotten so small the past few days. I can't think about starting school or moving into the dorm... the stuff I was so excited about. Something's wrong with Avasa.

Cassie came by here a few days ago to get me; she'd run into him and I guess he told her to come and find me. Something's making him act the way he did when I first met

I sigh and sit up, running my fingers through my tousled hair. "You think that'd help?" I'm just about to the point where I don't know which end's up anymore. I'm so nervous and distracted I don't know what'd be the right thing to do.

"I, um..." I try to force myself to focus. "Sure, if you don't need it. You--." I have a thought suddenly. "You guys played at the Bronze and I missed it, didn't I?" Crap. I'd really wanted to go to that, too. But somehow, my mind's been elsewhere. Go figure.

"Maybe going somewhere different would help. I hope so," I say. I try to smile. I have no idea what I'd do without friends who understand all the weird stuff that happens around here. Truly.

I hug him back, feeling slightly reassured. "I guess I could tell Buff I was going to someone's house or... something." I sigh. "She's going to kill me. At least I'm moving to college soon." My poor sister. What did she ever do to deserve me?

"Thanks, Jor." I smile back at him, a small but genuine one. "You're the best." Now, how to get Avasa out of the basement without being seen by one of the three other people who live there? I'll figure that out later, I guess.

"I will." I pull in a deep breath and push it out, realizing that I actually do feel a little better. Maybe Cassie will find out something while we're gone, who knows?

"Apocalypse is pretty darn likely," I say ruefully. I sigh, reaching over to pet his hair. "Thanks," I say again. I hope this works. Something needs to.
