I totally can't believe that uni is going to start soon. Seems like just yesterday that we graduated. I finally talked to Sophie about putting each other's names on the roommate form, and she said she'd like that. I think I'm gonna enjoy getting to know her better. I sit up, making the supreme effort for him. "What have I told you?" I say, giving him the Annoyed Older Sis look. "You can talk to me about anything." I cross my legs Indian-style and scrunch my damp hair with my fingers. "Maybe she just needs a little space. You know, with school starting and everything being different, sorta. Maybe she didn't really mean it like that."

Hm. Maybe this isn't all about J. I scoot closer, putting my feet down onto the floor and nudging him with my shoulder. "You know you're not gonna get rid of us that easily, right? Sophie and I signed up to room together, so you'll be seeing a lot of both of us, I'm sure."

"...since you've known me, have I ever been worried about being cool? C'mon." I put an arm around him, hoping he won't mind. I should've predicted the whole us-going-off-to-college thing would make him feel insecure. Even though he's dating Sophie now.

He's so sweet. You can't help but love him. I rest my head against his and say softly, "You know what? I know it's not easy to do, but try not to worry so much, okay? The kind of friendship we all have isn't something to just throw away. None of us would do that."
