Well, Sophie's going to be all right, and Danny is, too. I spent a while at the hospital the other night, sitting in the hall waiting for news. And I can't even tell you how good it was to see Jordy being normal again, not thinking he's Romeo and blathering in Shakespearean English. "Not that weird." I just got distracted by the whole missing-sister, sleeping with boyfriend for the first time, school-work-home routine.

I sigh, too, and say again, "I'm sorry. I suck, pretty much."

I lean forward and drape my arms around his neck, hugging him briefly. "It's so awesome that it's you and you're not spouting Shakespeare. I missed you, too."

I did, and it's odd that sometimes you don't realize just how much you missed somebody until they're back with you again.

Hello, minefield. I have the feeling J might like Jordy, just from a couple things she's said, but it wouldn't be cool to speculate about it.

"What makes you think she likes you?" I ask, resting a hand on his back. Poor boy. He looks so embarrassed.
