Of ice skates and naked Germans
Something I failed to mention in my last post was that On thursday I found a 12th C. ice skate, which is a flattened and highly polished bone. I felt it very appropriate personally, so I was well chuffed by that. They're pretty rare too, so kudos to me...
We all drank a lot last night, playing ring of fire, mixing whatever alchol together in bizzare concoctions, so we postponed getting up until 1pm when we went to a lake to the north of Magdeburg today, for reasons that I may explain later, we didn't take the tram (all German trams are EVIL) So we treked about 4 miles o get to it, but it was well worth it. Several of us went swimming, it was rather chilly, but refreshing. There were however a huge preportion of naked Germans. Only one fit girl unfortunately, (very fit though) the rest ugly old men, but we held our own and were incredibly British and remained with swimming costumes. We're planning a bbq there next sunday and all of us swimming too, probably with less drinking the night before so we can get there earlier....
Back to work tomorrow, and getting up at around 5:30am... not so fun. Still, two weekends left, an lots more fun to be had, I'm sure. I'm off for some baked beans on toast... It's bloody awkward finding certain foods here. I am CRAVING fish and chips, covered in salt and vinagar!
