Petrarchan Hand Sonnet

They tell you everything you want to know,

One look at someone’s hands, one searching out

And of them you will surely have no doubt

About from where they come and where they go

And where they work and where they play, find out

About their likes, their fears, their scars. They’ll show

You ev’rything you want to know, hands glow

With stories, fangé d mem’ries; fierce they shout.

My hands will gladly tell you so much more

Than any charts or pie-graphs ever could.

Two outlets, over what those tests may score

They spill their thoughts abounding, as they should.

And so I’ve drawn unique anatomy,

Myself, fleshed out and real for you to see.
