Title: Disinclined to Acquiesce to Your Request (1/3)
Characters/pairing: Curufin, Luthien
Prompt: 056. Breakfast
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: When Curufin and his brother Celegorm first met Luthien, they tricked her into accompanying them to their home in Nargothrond. Part one of three.
Author's Notes: Thank you, lbilover, for the initial beta. This went through many revisions after her reading, so if it doesn’t make sense, it’s all on me. With a hearty huzzah for the inspiration that is Captain Barbossa.
Curufin's Notes: This should be interesting. What really happened, how I kept Luthien distracted all that time? We sat around gabbing braiding one another's hair. She has a lot of hair. And who is this Captain Barbossa? Am I not inspiring enough?

His brother’s reluctance to forcefully imprison Luthien left Curufin to convince her to stay. Persuasion was an art to Curufin; he ensured Luthien passed the time subjected only to comfort and engaging conversation.

Greeting her one morning, he noticed a change in her demeanor: she knew she wasn’t a guest. He carried on. "What would you like for breakfast?"

"My liberty," she replied coolly.

"A request I cannot accommodate. Grapes?"

She nodded.

He twisted off a stem, every nerve in his body awakened to her slightest move. He reached for his favorite knife. "Apple?" he offered, testing the blade’s sharpness.

Title: Tempted (2/3)
Characters/pairing: Curufin, Luthien
Prompt: 041. Temptation
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: Curufin wonders what might have been, if Celegorm hadn’t yelled "Dibs!" when the brothers first saw Luthien. Part two of three.
Author's Notes: My thanks to lbilover for her excellent betaing on this and part three..
Curufin's Notes: *eyedart* In my defense, I am almost certain Luthien used some sort of hallucinogenic fragrance oils on her hair.

Images careened through his brain at the merest rustle of Luthien's hair. Flashes of glory, of greatness he might attain, if only he possessed her. Curufin gripped his knife harder, quelling these fantasies. Luthien was meant for another; he knew it instinctively. Whatever destiny her love could bestow would be claimed by another.

Accepting this forfeit, Curufin could look upon her without seeing only what might have been. His eyes found Luthien's as hers skipped away from the bolted door. He smiled.

"Has Celegorm returned to his hunt?" she asked.

"You might say that. He had a letter to write."

Title: Provoked (3/3)
Characters/pairing: Curufin, Luthien
Prompt: 081. Tease
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: Luthien’s fate is revealed. Part three of three.
Curufin's Notes: Celegorm was always such a selfish bastard.

"How could a letter affect Celegorm's hunt?" Luthien asked.

"A wise question as the matter concerns you intimately."

"Does it?" Her tone was polite but unconvinced.

"Only you may say," Curufin teased. "Consent from the right source will help snare this elusive quarry. That is to whom my brother applies."

Luthien shifted. "Whose permission does he seek?"

"Your father's. Celegorm sends word of his overwhelming--if sudden--affection for you. He will, no doubt, eloquently impress upon Thingol the advantages of a match between you." He hid a smile at her horrified expression, pleased at provoking her. "More grapes, dear?"
