(no subject)
Step One:
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two:
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My Wishes (in no particular order):
1. A hug from someone on my friends list that I don't already know.
2. Buffy- Any Season on DVD or VHS, doesn't matter. (Are they only available on DVD?)
3. A specialized fic, just for me. Anything Buffy related is cool. I wouldn't mind.
4. Someone to snuggle with that I can actually SNUGGLE with. In person. Yay with the snugglies.
5. To actually MEET Orlando Bloom. (Let's start a petition!!) And writing critique from Viggo Mortensen. And maybe some coffee with both. Wow..
6. Something materially specialized by someone on my friends list. Like a pillow made by someone, or a letter, or a card, or hand-made present.
7. A Gay/Bi-Pride icon. That'd be great.
8. A hug from Eliza Dushku. Oh my GODDESS that would kick some serious ass.
9. New music. Some that sound gothy and nice, the CSI soundtrack especially.
10. A mix of new music from a friend, doesn't matter what, just no country or Gospel music. Please.
11. A JTHM T-Shirt and the entire comic series, minus comic #4. And a Buffy comic would be nice. Wow..that would be really cool.
12. A Pentacle or Pentogram necklace. Definitely with the yay.
13. (oh no!! *snicker*) A new Layout laced with Buffy goodness. And possibly purple. (The Purple is a must, however, the Buffy isn't.) I don't have a paid account, so if this isn't possible, then let me know.
