(no subject)
yesterday was such a crazy day i feel like livejournal is the only place acceptable to tell the story. so after class from 10-2:20 i walked over to the natural history museum to take notes for a project. i was in the hall of human origins taking notes when this couple came up to me and asked if i was from new york. i said yes. they were from turkey and wanted to know where they could go to buy some "team" shirts. i was a little confused, so i asked: "do you mean like the yankees?" he said no no um... like star wars. i was completly thrown off by this as i have no idea where the hell you would buy a star wars t-shirt. i sent them to times square.
after a little over two hours walking around the museum i walked back to my dorm. for those of you who don't know the mueum is on west 79th and i live on east 55th so it's quite the walk, maybe about 45 minutes. when i got to third i noticed there were a bunch of people standing in a circle across the street and they were yelling. i crossed the street to get home and realized it was some giant fight where two kids were beating the shit out of each other.
i got back around 6:00 and told jen we had to leave in 15 minutes so we could make the play on time. at around 6:30 she was ready so we left and headed to times square in hopes of making our 7:00 show. we ran and ended up getting there around 6:50. there was a huge line out front for people picking up their tickets so we got in line and started to realize what was happening. there seemed to be a lot of older people at the show and all of them were really upset that they were waiting in line and thought they were going to miss the show. since there was only one ticket window open the line zig-zaged back in forth and it was hard to tell who was in line sometimes. as some people tried to make their way through others got really upset and began yelling and pushing. keep in mind these people are all at least 50 years old. a secong window opened as we were next in line and a ton of people rushed to it and cut everyone in line, still people all at least 50 years old. i got really mad and proceeded to yell at the lady in front of me as she stole my spot "don't make me have to get angry and start yelling at you." stupid bitch ignorned me and got her tickets and left.
all in all a weird day that i felt like sharing with all of you.
