Why Do I Always Do These Things To Myself?

Aug 15, 2011 22:17

Leah has returned (temporarily) to Seattle, and with Mom and Maureen also gone, that means that for the first time in nearly a month, I am completely alone at home. Naturally, I spent several hours cleaning up, and then some quality time with my computer. Unfortunately, however, I happened to come across this particular entry on cracked.com just as the sun was setting. I daresay, I am very susceptible, if not to horror, than at the very least to creepiness, and most of these "urban legends" fit that pattern*.
Then there's another thing I'm afraid of: telephones. Particularly when I'm sitting all alone in my apartment, late at night, and I start hearing a ringtone I've never heard before. It turns out it was Leah's sister calling her on her Canadian cell (which she, in her wisdom, left behind so as not to accrue wandering charges).
Bah.
At least my castiron tea pot keeps out malign otherworldly entities (and can used to bludgeon malign worldly ones).
