All things considered, I think that the worst type of problem (mathematically speaking, I mean) is the one that you know should be simple to solve, but to which you, for the life of yourself, cannot seem to derive a solution. And all of the textbook authors apparently consider the whole thing to be so trivial as to be beneath deriving. Bah.
Meanwhile, it turns out that coding documents in LaTeX is really, really boring.
