The best concert I've ever been to was The Horrors. I followed them on their last American tour. First of all, all of them are INCREDIBLY nice guys-since we followed them, we got to talk to them a lot. Second, their live shows are incredible. I'm pretty sure there's nothing the lead singer WON'T do. He started the mosh pits, climbed on the ceiling, and did so much more (there's video of him climbing balconies, throwing trash cans into the audience, etc.). It was so intense and amazing (plus all of the venues we saw them at held like 100 people max.)
The furthest I've travelled for a band, not including following the Horrors (which amounted to something like 2000 miles), was Hot Hot Heat. My friends and I drove like 600 miles to see them in Indianapolis because we had met them the night before and they offered to put us on the guestlist. We saw their set (it was half an hour long), talked to them for maybe an hour or so, then drove 600 more miles home.
As for artists that I'd love to see, at this point I'm dead set on Klaxons. They're playing my hometown next week and of course, I'm away at school and they're not coming anywhere near where I am....but I'm not bitter. Not at all....
